So This Is Ever After (Hardcover, 2022, Margaret K. McElderry Books) 5 stars

Carry On meets Arthurian legend in this funny, subversive young adult fantasy about what happens …

Absolutely adorable and amazing

5 stars

There is quite some humour and sarcasm in this book, I love it. I finished reading it within two days, for I couldn't stop myself. I do not think that I have read anything like this before. If you love Young Adult fantasy books and you want to read something adorable, you should probably check this book out.

Watership Down (1975, Avon) 4 stars

Watership Down is the compelling tale of a group of wild rabbits struggling to hold …

Nice rabbit story

4 stars

This was a fun and nice book to read. It is cool to see a lot of human things described from 'rabbit perspective' with only some of them knowing what to do with something. I loved the parts where one of the rabbits came up with something smart, without a way to make the other rabbits understand how it worked. Like the boat.

Alice's Adventures under Water (Paperback, 2021, Millennyum Publications) 4 stars

If you enjoyed Lewis Carroll’s books Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and …

Modernized Alice

4 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book. For some of the poems I could easily see where they came from and that made me smile. Several references to the original books also brought me a bright smile. I think that the book is quite good, though of course it could have been even better. At some points it feels a little bit serious. I am not sure whether Carroll would be content with this book, I think he might be, but he would surely have a list with things that could be better. Carroll was quite perfectionist...

Review of Dracula

4 stars

Dracula was actually quite nice to read. At first, the story advanced quite slowly in my opinion, but towards the middle it became faster. Sometimes the story haunted me in the night, but fortunately this was not that bad and it never lasted long.

The Woman in White (Oxford World's Classics) (1998, Oxford University Press, USA) 4 stars

The Woman in White famously opens with Walter Hartright's eerie encounter on a moonlit London …

A true masterpiece.

4 stars

This book is quite enjoyable. It contains a lot of masterly plot twists and once you start reading, it almost compels you to read on without stopping. Some this book is slow-paced, which is not completely true, in my humble opinion. Although the pace might be a bit slow in a certain way, the story keeps carrying you on and thus it can feel like a medium paced or even fast paced book.

Gulliver's Travels (2008, Vintage) 4 stars

For the last 250 years people everywhere have enjoyed reading about Lemuel Gulliver's travels in …

Nice, but more notes than pages.

4 stars

It was quite a nice book to read. It is a satire, though I am quite sure that I did not notice everything. Actually, if it weren't for the introduction and notes, I would not have recognized a lot of things. But that is probably logical, since there are more notes than pages...
